Hardware
Physical world and tools we care about.
The Physicality of Thought
Code may be intangible, but the act of creating it is deeply physical. The keys beneath my fingers, the light hitting my eyes, the sound shaping my focus — these aren’t just conveniences. They’re the interface between mind and machine.
I’ve learned that environment shapes output. A cluttered desk breeds cluttered code. A slow machine kills flow state. A bad chair destroys focus after the third hour.
Hardware isn’t about having the latest gear. It’s about removing friction — building an environment where the only thing between an idea and its execution is the clarity of thought.
Tools as Extensions of Self
For an ADHD brain, the physical setup isn’t optional — it’s survival. Every distraction removed, every inefficiency eliminated, every sensory input optimized: these aren’t luxuries, they’re necessities for sustained focus.
I choose tools that:
- Respond instantly — latency is death to hyperfocus
- Stay invisible — the best tools disappear when you need them most
- Last decades — I don’t want to relearn my environment every two years
- Respect sensory needs — ergonomics, acoustics, lighting all matter
Philosophy Over Specs
I don’t chase benchmarks. I chase reliability, craftsmanship, and longevity. A tool that works perfectly for ten years beats a faster tool that frustrates me daily.
My setup reflects the same principles as my code: intentional, minimal, and built to last.
Current Setup
What I use daily — not as a flex, but as proof that thoughtful tools compound over time. Every piece chosen for a reason, kept because it earns its place.

Note: This isn’t an endorsement list. I don’t get paid to recommend anything. These are simply the tools that survived my relentless pruning — the ones that proved their worth by disappearing into my workflow.
Your setup will differ. Your needs will differ. The principle remains: choose intentionally, eliminate ruthlessly, and invest in what removes obstacles from your most important work.
